Which misting timer should you use when no electricity is nearby?
A battery operated misting timer of course, and the DIG 710.075P digital misting timer works great for just this scenario.
The 710 series timers are a great choice for those misting beds that are just too far away to safely run electricity or you just cannot afford to have it done right now. Unlike the DIG 5006 series timers, the 710 series requires no electricity whatsoever to run. The timer uses one 9 volt battery to hold the program and to operate the solenoid. The battery will last an entire growing season so there is no need to worry about interruptions in the misting process.
The best feature of a battery operated misting timer is the fact that in the event of a power failure, it still operates.
Of course, with all the great features, there has to be a drawback right? Well, yes and no. The only drawback if you can call it one, is the fact that the battery operated misting timer can only be programmed to cover one misting bed. Unlike the DIG 5006-IP which can be programmed to cover 6 separate misting beds with 6 completely different programs, the 710 series timer does just one. Of course, depending on your water pressure and flow, and how many misting nozzles you can use, the single misting bed may be quite large.
If you are looking for a dependable battery operated misting timer, you cannot go wrong with the DIG 710.075P.
